Futon cover in green from Eihei Temple area
A sourvenir from a trip, perhaps, in tsutsugaki style if not execution, of paired crests ornamented with karakusa, the scrolling vine pattern the Japanese call "Chinese grass."  The quilt cover is made of five panels of the traditional Japanese loom width, in what was a medium deep green, which now has faded of a soft moss green.  The color is even except for the two squares that at some time were folded outward, visible in the photo on the second panel from the left just below the middle.  The panels are nicely assembled to produce a diagonal pattern.
Dimensions approximately 62" x 68" in five panels, of sturdy cloth with fading as noted above of squares that were outermost when folded.
