An attractive underglaze blue & white bowl with decorative bands of flowers and landscapes around a central scene with two adults and a child in 18th-century European clothing.  The painting is simple and effective, and executed in several shades of underglaze cobalt blue on a very white ground, with a reddish-brown rim.  The outside (see view below) has three identical elaborate renderings of  scrolls bound with flowing ties and Buddhist sacred jewels, in underglaze cobalt transfer print.
Bowl in very white porcelain with hand-painted interior and transfer exterior underglaze blue decoration and reddish-brown rim, measuring 9 3/4" in diameter and 2 3/8" deep.  On the base is a two-character mark (see below) unidentified.  Probably 20th century rendering of classic design.
